Updated: May 31, 2023

Learn about our mission and purpose, invest in our upcoming resources, and realize the need for teen understanding.

Hello everyone! We are TEMOH, an online resource for teens to help them understand the complicated world of medicine. It is crucial for teens to be educated on their health even if they are not looking to go into the medical field. Understanding medical terminology can help teens learn more about their health and bodies. This makes doctor visits and unexpected illnesses less stressful. Having comprehension is important for teens so that when they become adults, they are confident about their health. This is where TEMOH flourishes. TEMOH's numerous amounts of research, professional guidance, and resources will be able to lead teens into their journey to better understand their health because medicine does not have to be confusing.

Background

TEMOH, standing for teen education for Medicine, occupation, and Health, is a student-founded resource to help teens better understand medicine. It was created based on recent medical complications and passions. Madelynn Kearney, the founder, is an upcoming senior at Christoval High School. She has a passion for medicine and wants to become a neurosurgeon in the future. While you may believe that is why she created TEMOH, there is a more substantial reason. Maddie struggles with numerous health diagnoses that she never seems to get an answer for. Through immense amounts of doctors, radiologists, and specialists there always seems to be a new health problem and no cure for the previous. She created TEMOH to help not only her, but other teens in her situation understand their health. There are answers out there, and she has realized that she has had to find them herself. She hopes that TEMOH can provide guidance and relief for people in similar situations.
